Are we there yet? Mapping the Labyrinth

Oct 25, 2015On Show, Talks & Workshops

Private View: Saturday 7th November 2-5pm

Ground Floor Gallery

In her recent artwork, Michelle Rumney attempts to navigate through a daily overload of incoming information, including factual data such as directions and instructions, plus more emotional and sensual data such as stories and sounds.

Using labyrinth patterns and grids as a base, and simple, repetitive processes, she weaves pathways and new roads, making her own sense of the often-conflicting information she finds, transforming basic materials such as book pages, maps and paper into delicate and often meditative pieces, both on the walls and into the space.

The Ground Floor Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am till close.

If you’d like to come along to the private view or any of the workshops running throughout the exhibition, you are very welcome. Please mail me in advance at: info@michellerumney.com
